Depending on the options you choose, your custom SongBrowser can be downloaded in just a few seconds by your visitors, and it starts playing the instant it's downloaded. Then, only the songs the user selects are downloaded. Remember, your songs are presented in a custom browser that reflects your artistic vision and includes your lyrics and notes. Here's how we work with you to create your own custom SongBrowser.

You send us a copy of your CD so that we can create the audio files.

We will notify you via email when we receive the CD. Please indicate whether you would like us to return the CD to you.

Although we recommend sending us a CD for the best quality, if you want to expedite the production process (or you simply prefer not to send us a CD) you can also email us the audio clips. Due to size constraints, we ask that you:

Edit clips to the first 90 seconds of each track, and

Encode the track using MP3 compression. Keep the MP3 bit rate at least 64 k/sec to ensure a good re-compression.

This can be in either plain text or a Microsoft Word document. We recommend you include the track's title and length, who wrote the music, lyrics, arrangements, copyrights, and any other information. In addition, please include a section of information about the entire project.

If you have any ideas or specific requests please let us know. If you simply send us the CD and PDF or layout files, we will attempt to recreate, as closely as possible, the "look and feel" of these. The basic layout includes one image in the browser window. Most clients (logically) choose to have the CD cover as the player's background. We will scan the image from the front of your CD cover for including in the browser.

We will create clips of and encode up to 12 audio tracks, which are compressed in the high quality MP3 format. Additional clips can be included at a cost of $30 each. Clips can be up to 90 seconds long; if you wish to have longer tracks (or have the entire track included), there is an additional chage of $5 per clip to accommodate the extra processing time required.

As an option, we can include individual images with each clip for $150. If this is your choice, please let us know what images go with what songs.

This includes two rounds of review and approval. Additional work beyond the third version will be billed at our normal hourly rate ($50/hour).

After you are satisfied with the design, we upload your SongBrowser file and the song files to your web server. In order for us to upload the files you will need to provide FTP access information to your site. This includes the domain name or IP address, the username, and the password. If you would rather not give us access to your site we will simply email you the files, compressed in either ZIP (PC) or Stuffit (Mac) format.

You will need to give us a URL so we can create a link from the SongBrowser to your online purchase page (e.g. to CDBABY). You will also need to arrange to have a link to the song browser created somewhere on your site. We will give you the appropriate JavaScript code for opening the window at the appropriate size, without buttons, etc. If you wish we will create the link on the page of your choosing for $30.
